In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response:  A boundary I have set was for my brother to stop going through my room to get to his. It was when we were younger but it was just annoying that he would just randomly come in and bother me. That is what older siblings do though and it was not that big of a deal. At the time it helped us to not get into so many arguments because I would get really annoyed sometimes when he barged into my room. Summary: I finished my common lit Reflection:  I learned about more poetry

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response:  A time in my life that changed faster than I thought was when I was younger we used to move a lot. We moved for my dads work and I lived in 4 houses by the time I was 6 years old. I think that it shows how nothing ever stays the same. So you should always cherish what you have right now. And that is why things seem special to us, because they do not last. Summary: We worked on more Robert Frost  Reflection:   I learned a new poem.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response:  My favorite word was celibate because it was the only word that I already knew. I think I learned about it through religion or something, I am not completely sure. I think that it is a very uncommon word, especially in high school. I would never hear it unless I was in your class or I was reading a book. Summary: I finished my project. Reflection:  I learned new editing on power point.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response:  My imagination helps me with the stress of school work a lot because I am able to think of creative ways to get it done so that it is not so boring. It allows me to step outside of reality and forget about the stress. It also helps me think of different ways to get my work done so that it is not so boring. I think that having a good imagination is important to keeping yourself happy. Summary: We started a project about poetry Reflection:  Read more Robert Frost.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response:  A time when I was in danger was when a car T-boned me on the way home from school. I had to quickly swerve out of the way to minimize the damage. But if I swerved too much then I would have gone into oncoming traffic. If I was not paying attention than someone could have gotten hurt.  Summary: We analyzed a poem. Reflection:  I learned about Robert Frost.

Write about what you did over the Fall Break.

Prompt Response:  I did not do a whole lot over break. I did not go anywhere just stayed in town. I hung out with friends and watched TV for the most part. I wish I went to Florida or something though. I went to Netherworld on Sunday and that was fun. Summary: We made a comic strip Reflection:  I learned new words.

How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Prompt Response:  When I am very busy I try to find time to enjoy my day still. And I don't mean that I don't always like being busy but sometimes it can be a lot. Usually I try to call my friend, and distract my self from what I am doing. Or I can sit on my phone for a bit and play Clash Royal, or scroll on Instagram. Sometimes if I have things I need to go out and do like get gas I like to step away and clear my mind.  Summary: We revised our paragraphs. Reflection:  I refined my skills of revising my writing.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response:   When my brother told me about a close call he had had while driving. It really resonated with me, and after that I have been a safer driver. I think hearing about a close call like that from someone as close as your brother can really impact you in a different way than even a close friend. It hits way closer to home for me I think when it came from my brother, because I have had people tell me things like that before and it just wasn't the same. Summary: We revised are argumentative papers and did another assignment.  Reflection:  I learned how to revise other peoples argumentative paragraphs.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt Response:   A time I stepped outside my comfort zone was when I went on a roller-coaster for the first time when I was young. I was really scared but my dad told me that I should go on it at least once. I did go and I really enjoyed it. I think that applies to a lot of things, if you at least try it, it probably wont hurt. Because you can't say that you wont like something until you try it just like food. You can't knock it until you try it. Summary: We wrote more argumentative paragraphs. Reflection:  I am getting really good at writing argumentative essays

Write about a dream that felt real.

Prompt Response:  A dream that felt real for me was a dream that I had a couple years ago. It was real like Temple Run, like the mobile game. And I was running from the monster and I jumped off a cliff to get away from it. At first I thought I was going to wake up. But instead I started to fly over the jungle I had been running through. It was my best dream I have ever had. I still remember today. Summary: We did the vocab words and a News ela. Reflection:  I learned about cancel culture.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Prompt Response:  I have always been curious what it would be like to be born in India in the slums. Like if you were born there what do think about the outside world. Would you think it is all super advanced our do you recognize your situation. Also are how do some places get so polluted? It is a very crazy place, India in the slums, somewhere I never want to go and I feel bad for those who have to live there.  Summary: We did the argumentative paragraph. Reflection:  I learned how to order an argumentative paragraph.

Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response:  The best gift I have ever received was my new laptop. I think it is the best gift because it is a nice computer, which I have not really ever had one of my own. As well as it being very practical. I think I have used it the most out of any of my gifts I had gotten. I use it almost every day just not on the weekends sometimes if I do not have school work. I am typing this on my computer right now. Summary: We did not write argumentative writing. Reflection:  I wrote a claim with evidence and reasoning.

Write about a conversation that changed you.

Prompt Response:  A conversation that changed me was when my dad talked about how throughout my high school career every final grade and activities I participate in can help me get into the college I want to go to. Not that I did not know this but it was kind of a wake up call. I had not really thought about it before. After that I started a little academic grind, but it went away after a month or so. Summary: We went over more argumentative claim making. Reflection:  I made an argumentative claim.
