In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response: My imagination helps me with the stress of school work a lot because I am able to think of creative ways to get it done so that it is not so boring. It allows me to step outside of reality and forget about the stress. It also helps me think of different ways to get my work done so that it is not so boring. I think that having a good imagination is important to keeping yourself happy.

Summary: We started a project about poetry

Reflection: Read more Robert Frost.
