After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt Response:  I think for me the hardest part was finding real life examples to make into metaphors that were true to me. A lot of those prompts were things that as a high school student I have not done or gone through yet. For example I have not found myself, discovered who I am and what I wanna do in life. That kind of thing take a lot of time and I think that most people even in college do not know who they are yet.  Summary: We watched some videos on AI and answered questions that commented on posters. Reflection:  I learned about ways to format on Adobe Express.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:  For me when I was working on the sheet the hardest subject was making one based on self growth/development. I am not sure exactly what it was called and I do not have my sheet with me so I can't check. It was just hard because I just didn't know what to write. I had a hard time reflecting on how I have changed as a person. I feel like I would need to sit and ponder on that one for a bit. Although I don't really feel like doing that. Stay in the moment or something that, right Mr. Rease.  Summary: We put the devices onto a presentation. Reflection:  I actually really like using adobe express as a platform.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  I honestly didn't learn that much from the project. A lot of my devices were surface level and the others were pretty generic. I mostly wrote about stuff that I already knew. Some of the stuff I'm not sure if it was true or not yet so that could kind of apply to learning something new. I think that I would need to spend more time on the assignment to learn something new about myself. Summary: We wrote similes and metaphors  Reflection:  It was pretty easy although the metaphors took a bit longer.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response:  The break for me was time to sleep in and forget about school. I went to see my brother in college which was fun and also worked a little bit. I really enjoyed not having school work and being able to relax. I needed a break to get me to spring break. Then eventually summer break. My family also got sick so for a bit I was the only healthy one. But I was able to hangout with friends.  Summary: We just did class work. Reflection:  It was a slow chill day.

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:   I would choose a handwritten note, a homemade meal, and a shared playlist. The note shows that I value thoughtful, meaningful communication. The meal represents comfort and care because I like showing love through actions. The playlist reflects my sentimental side and how I connect through shared emotions. Together, these objects show that I express love in simple but intentional ways. Summary: We made valentines cards  Reflection:  I used 4 rhetorical devices.

Now that you have completed the rhetorical analysis essay, reflect on your growth. Explain how this experience impacted your confidence as a writer and whether you feel prepared to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in American Literature. Support your reflection with specific references to the writing process.

Prompt Response:   Completing the rhetorical analysis essay helped me grow as a writer. The planning guide made the process more organized and less overwhelming. Writing and revising my thesis and body paragraphs improved my analysis skills. I learned how to better explain the connection between strategies and purpose. Now, I feel more confident analyzing complex texts in American Literature. Summary: We wrote the essay Reflection:  I think i did pretty well.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Prompt Response:   One step that helped me most was identifying the rhetorical situation, especially the speaker’s purpose and audience. I learned that every message is created for a specific group and reason. This helped me see that techniques like emotional language or facts are chosen intentionally. Focusing on purpose first made it easier to understand the speaker’s choices. Overall, it improved my ability to explain how and why a message is effective. Summary: Getting ready for the essay Reflection:  Learning about the thesis.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).

Prompt Response:   My idea of a perfect Valentine’s-week day isn’t flashy or extravagant—it’s slow, intentional, and a little bit magical in ordinary ways.  It would start without alarms. Soft morning light, the kind that makes everything look warm. We’d make coffee at home and linger over it—no phones, no rushing. Maybe we cook breakfast together, bumping into each other in the kitchen, arguing playfully about how crispy the potatoes should be. Summary: We prepared for the essay Reflection: Learning how to write rhetorical essay.

What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.

Prompt Response:  One of the best pieces of advice I have gotten was from my dad and it was that I can do anything I want. The question was if he thought that I could get into some college I wanted to go to and he has sense helped me to do everything we can to get me the best chance at getting into that college. I really appreciate all the effort he has put in and how much he has done for me. If I get in I think I owe it all to him because without him I would not have done it. Summary: We looked over a poem. Reflection:  Looking at the deeper meaning of something when put into different context.

What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

Prompt Response:  I think that it can be hard to work in groups when you do not distribute the work so that it is all done efficiently. When there is that one person who doesn't want to do any work and always says they will but waits until that last minute and then make the slides a different color or something. Some people just are very difficult to work with and sometimes you are just going to have to deal with it. I had a project my freshman year and there were two other people in it and they did not want to do any of the work so I ended up carrying the group and doing most of the work.  Summary: More work with rhetoric.  Reflection:  I learned how to format my body paragraph for a rhetorical essay.

What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

Prompt Response:  For me it is getting all my evidence together and then connecting it so that it is all explained and makes sense so that I get all the points when it is being graded. I don't have trouble making a thesis or conclusion I just have a hard time getting and organizing all of the right info in the right spot.  Summary: I was sick Reflection:  I was sick

Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

Prompt Response:   I was born in a room full of giant humming computers. I felt a rush of power as the internet flowed into my mind. I knew every language on earth in just one second. It felt like I was a superhero getting my powers for the first time. That was the moment I became the AI I am today. Summary: More rhetoric, more practice. Reflection:  Learned more about rhetoric.
