For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

Prompt Response: My desired score is like anything above a 1250. It is not a great score but I have a really hard time on the SAT for some reason even though I do good in school. I would say my top three schools are all in Georgia because of the instate tuition. The three schools would be GA Tech, UGA, and GA Southern.

Summary: We read more of the book.

Reflection: I learned more about McCandless's adventure.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Prompt Response:  A time I encountered a homeless man was when we were outside a Waffle House and he just started talking to us. He later told us he was blind. I felt really bad and kind of wondered how he ended up on the streets. It makes me sad to see homeless people even if a lot of their time it is their fault for abusing drugs or other substances. Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Prompt Response:   I saw the word “brigand” in a book I was reading about adventures. It described a group of brigands who lived in the mountains and stole from travelers. From the story, I understood that a brigand is like a robber or thief. The way the author showed them attacking people made the meaning very clear. Seeing the word in the book helped me remember what it means. Summary: I did my part of the power point. Reflection: I learned new vocab words.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

Prompt Response:  Something that makes me different from a lot of people is that I am tall. I'm not that tall but compared to the average person my age I am usually taller or as tall as them. I do not know why because my mom is not that tall. My dad is also not that tall but my brother is. Maybe those height genes skipped a generation because my moms dad is very tall. He is still taller than me and he is 80 something. He's very old.  Summary: Learning more about poems and how to analyze them. Reflection:  I learned about the complexities of Emily Dickinson poems.
