In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

Prompt Response: A time that I did something that something that was "cool" was when I was speeding and a cop flashed his lights at me to slow down. I now realize that it is very bad and dangerous. I should not speed. I could die way to soon if I do speed. My brother did it a lot and so i decided to but shouldn't have.

Summary: We did more poem work.

Reflection: I learned a new poem.

Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?
