After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity.

Prompt Response: A personal experience that I have had that was absurd was when I was driving home a couple weeks ago from school. Everything was normal and I was about half way home and I was pulling up to multiple intersections. I had three green lights ahead of me so I kept going straight because I had the right of way. As I glanced across the road I saw a car pull up from a side street looking to merge into traffic. I didn't think much of it because I was going fast enough for it to be impossible for them to make the gap. But they decided to gun it and they did miss the gap and ended up slamming into the side of me. I tried to swerve but there was no time. After that I stopped on the road and they ran from the crime scene.

Summary: We analyzed another poem.

Reflection: I learned how comparison can be used in poetry.

In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?
